In college admissions it is important to show foundational skills as well as creative content. In this 8 week session, each student will be guided through exercises helping to build portfolios that encourage conceptual thinking and experimentation. Classes will meet once per week for 1.5 hours. Students will learn: ~What makes a competitive portfolio ~How to come up with interesting ideas and concepts. ~How to develop observational skills and document the creative process. ~Ways in which to connect work to art history Supply List: Sketch book 9x12 or larger Pencils set HB, B, 2B, 4B, 6B Vine charcoal Erasers white plastic and kneaded Acrylic paint (cadmium red light, Alizarin red, Cadmium yellow lemon, Cadmium yellow medium, Ultramarine blue, Cobalt blue, Titanium white) Palette knife Paper palette (gray) or stay wet palette Brushes (filbert 6 and 8, round 2, flat 6 and 8) Canvases 8x10 Container for water Retarder/extender Heavy body gel medium semi-gloss Paper towels If this sounds like an experience you’d like to pursue, sign up today as space is limited.
