Have you always wanted to learn how to draw or paint, but didn't know where to start? Well, this Fall I am offering small intimate art classes for beginners in the relaxed setting of my private studio. Each student will be guided through acrylic painting exercises in this 6 week session. Classes will meet once per week for 1.5 hours. Students will learn: • How to recognize and choose color schemes, • How to mix tints, shades, and tones utilizing complementary colors • How to keep colors vibrant and avoid mixing "mud" • investigate the physical, perceptual, psychological, and organizational properties of color. • The ways in which light can effect color Supply List: Sketch book 9x12 or larger Pencils set HB, B, 2B, 4B, 6B Vine charcoal Erasers white plastic and kneaded Acrylic paint (cadmium red light, Alizarin red, Cadmium yellow lemon, Cadmium yellow medium, Ultramarine blue, Cobalt blue, Titanium white) Palette knife Paper palette (gray) or stay wet palette Brushes (filbert 6 and 8, round 2, flat 6 and 8) Canvases 8x10 Container for water Retarder/extender Heavy body gel medium semi-gloss Paper towels If this sounds like an experience you’d like to pursue, sign up today as space is limited.
